NEIGHBOR AID 2009

OUR COMMUNITY MAKES NEIGHBOR AID 2009 ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER

ShareNet would like to sincerely thank our community for supporting Neighbor Aid 2009, and providing us with $62,880 for our 2010 operations.  We know that for many in Kitsap the economic crisis has deepened not lightened, and that it was felt more profoundly here in 2009 than in 2008.  For that reason, many speculated our donations would be down, but we’re grateful to report that we came very close to matching our campaign last year.  We’re grateful for our community’s trust, and we take the responsibility of making your dollars work directly in your own community very seriously.  Christmas was another busy chapter in ShareNet’s year, with almost 16,000 pounds of food distributed to 760 individuals, enough food for 5,236 meals.  When we think of how many people and how much time it took to make this happen, and include the efforts at Bayside Community Church in hosting our Christmas Gift Shop, we look at it as a whole community coming together to make holidays possible in impossible situations.  Your dollars allow us to be the agency that makes these holiday efforts, as well as our regular work for the rest of the year fighting hunger and assisting with crisis prevention payments for utilities and housing.  To North Kitsap and our entire donor and volunteer community, thank you.
